General description
PMMA is a material with high strength, rigidity, heat resistance and scratch resistance. It has high optical transparency and gloss with good weather resistance and is resistant to weak acids and alkalis, non-polar solvents, fats, oils and water. However, the susceptibility to stress-cracking media (e.g. surfactants) must be taken into account. The impact strength, which is not too high, can be improved by modification, but this will impair the optical quality.
