Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene Copolymer (ABS)
Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer consists of the three monomers acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene, and belongs to the amorphous plastics. ABS has good impact strength, dimensional stability and dimensional accuracy. In addition, this amorphous plastic has good heat resistance and chemical resistance, and is easy to process. It is easy to galvanise, paint and print.

Manufacturing Process of ABS and compatibility With Other Materials
ABS is produced either by the emulsion process or by the in-mass process. From us, you receive the emulsion ABS, which distinguishes itself by its high gloss. With the controlled manufacturing process, a wide variety of material grades can be produced. Thanks to the homogeneous butadiene particle distribution, the electroplating grades for example show a high surface quality for optimal chromium adhesion.
ABS is compatible with many other plastics, especially polycarbonate (PC). In ABS+PC blends, the polycarbonate improves mechanical properties and heat resistance.
K.D. Feddersen has an extensive portfolio of thermoplastic ABS products and ABS/PC blends, such as electroplating grades, high-temperature resistant and emission-reduced grades and chemical compliance grades in natural and black. Many ABS products are also available pre-colored in numerous RAL, automotive and special colors.
