K.D. Feddersen Supplies Alternative Material on Short Notice

Engineering Plastics Supplier

Reliable and Strong Partnership

The shortage of raw materials and rising prices are currently a topic that moves people's minds, not only in the plastics industry. The Hamburg-based plastics distributor K.D. Feddersen is trying to keep its supply chain as stable as possible and offer creative solutions.

Dieter Hassmann Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH, located in Rödinghausen-Bieren in the district of Herford, manufactures spindle safety nuts with external and internal threads TR16x4 for bed drives made of POM to the company ilcon GmbH, specialist for linear drive systems and controls for medical technology in Hoya (district of Nienburg/Weser).

The POM grade originally used is currently difficult to supply, and production of the urgently needed bed drives was threatening to come to a standstill.

K.D. Feddersen Supplies Alternative Material

Therefore, together with Christoph Gerling, Business Development Manager at K.D. Feddersen, an alternative, available material was selected at short notice that met the specifications of both the processor and the OEM.

„We are pleased that we can supply our long-standing loyal customer Dieter Hassmann Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH with high-quality engineering plastics despite the current tense situation. This ensures that ilcon can continue to establish its products on the market in the usual good quality and in sufficient quantities,“ says Gerling.
