About the Product Family
CELSTRAN® is the product series from Celanese for long-fibre reinforced thermoplastics (LFRT). Celanese produces CELSTRAN® using a special pultrusion technology, which ensures that the fibres are fully impregnated, not damaged and have a standard fibre length of 10 mm. The long fibre reinforced thermoplastics from Celanese have significantly higher strength, rigidity and impact strength than conventional short-fibre reinforced plastics and considerably lower creep.
During the injection moulding process, a framework of fibres is created in the workpiece. This framework is extremely resistant to distortion and ensures low warpage and good dimensional stability. CELSTRAN® from Celanese comprises base polymers made of various thermoplastics (e.g. PA, POM, PP, PPS TPU) along with different fibre materials (glass, carbon, aramid or stainless steel). Due to their properties, CELSTRAN® LFRT products are suitable for use as metal substitutes, lightweight materials or heavy-duty applications.
